Writing articles not only increases your website’s SEO but also your status as a marketing expert that people will want to listen to. And don’t just write one and think your work is done. You’ll need to write a series of articles about different subjects. Don’t forget to put your website address at the end of the article so people can easily click and find you.

—Social network. This is one of the best ways to market yourself and your website. The top social networking sites are FaceBook, MySpace, and Twitter. Our favorite is Twitter because it allows you to quickly find like-minded people and potential customers. Twitter is one place that is more accepting of blatant attempts to market yourself and your site. Such sites are easy to join and navigate, and are good marketing tools.

—Issue press releases. You should try to make them newsworthy, and have some sort of interesting or unique angle. Don’t forget, every person who has a business like yours is also issuing press releases, so try to make yours stand out.

—Write a blog or be a “guest” blogger on someone else’s site. Blogs are a terrific way of attracting people to your main business. Don’t blatantly advertise your website, but offer information they cannot get on your website. For example, if you sell bicycles, your blog might be reviews of the best bike trails.

Lastly, don’t give up. It sometimes takes time to see the results of your hard work. But if you keep it up, chances are you will see the rewards.
